Preserving the memory of the original spatiality while updating its function guided the decision to retain most of the 19th-century farmstead's original volumes. Some are converted into residences, keeping their traditional relationship with the courtyard; others are replaced with new structures, forming a link to the city centre and giving it a new focal point. A tree-lined axis connects the central courtyard to the assisted living facility for the elderly — a complex built around a central garden, reviving a typology that creates continuity between ground-floor community services and open space. The result is a communal place: a planted space meant primarily for residents, but open to wider public use.
